Dear Father, I don’t want to be hated. I want to be accepted. Your word says that if I belong with you, I won’t be accepted by the world. Help me to accept and take joy in that, instead of being disappointed. Help me to keep my heart focused on the right things. Help me to surround myself with your family. Please give me the foundation I need in your word, and a godly community so that I’ll be encouraged and strengthened to stay faithful to you even when there’s cultural pressure to compromise. Help me to be like you and to represent you well so that even when there is criticism or rejection, I can have peace that it’s only because I am your child and not because I have misrepresented you.
